So yes there is an IDEA party going on, and we should celebrate!  Maybe we can get to 25 by Thursday?  Remember, Thursday (tomorrow)  is the day we have set aside to really concentrate on these ideas, submit comments, refine them, and most importantly HIT the LIKE button if you want to vote for this idea!  The top 3 to 6 will be announced at special morning coffees on Friday with an ILRI -WIDE WebEx link.

I am really impressed with the quality of the comments.  When ILRI gets going we really rock!!!

Today we have three programmes presenting:  Livestock Systems and Environment, Vaccines, and Animal Sciences for Sustainable Productivity..    I have seen many of you busy at your screens with headphones on so I am really looking forward to today!

Over in the IDEAS Pool we have SIX great concepts that are gathering steam… Jimmy has been commenting on these from London …. let’s see whether today we cannot DOUBLE this number!

We then move into presentations from three of the research programmes:  BECA-ILRI Hub; Policy, Trade and Value Chains; and Feeds and Forage.  These presentations should stimulate both comments on the content AND some new ideas…  (hmmm..  what about chicken that could eat Brachiaria grass and lay 2 eggs rather than 1?… hmmm.. what about a cross-Africa policy that mandated women’s access to 50% of all dairy income….hmmmm…..)…   Ok these are a bit weird but you get the point..    ILRI wants IDEAS THAT PAY!!  All perspectives and skill sets are needed, so please don’t hold back…. but do keep your comments CONSTRUCTIVE.  We are here to collaborate, not compete….
